Building History

  • The original plans and proposal of this site took place in 2004
  • Excavation of the site occurred in 2004-2005. It was during this stage that an underground river was discovered running through the site. Unfortunately, this problem delayed construction for approximately four (4) years.
  • Final completion and occupancy of these buildings occurred in 2007

Site History

  • This plot of land originally held the longstanding Dominion Coal Silos which “were constructed in 1928 according to the designs of the E.P. Muntz Engineering Company”
  • “This site consisted of nine adjoining concrete silos and a coal loader. The structure remained with its distinctive painted signage until demolition”
  • “In 1992, the Toronto Historical Board presented Dominion Coal with an award of Merit for their restoration of the vintage painted advertising on the silos.”
  • “The property was included on the City of Toronto Inventory of Heritage Properties on August 14th, 1998."

Current Structure

  • The Domain is a two building structure thirteen and fourteen storeys high with a total of two hundred and forty one units.
  • The building provides one bedroom units, one bedroom with den units, two bedroom units and two bedroom plus den units

  • Twenty four hour concierge service
  • A full exercise room, swimming pool, saunas, Jacuzzi and games room. All of these amenities remain available to residents until 11pm each day.
  • Two guest suites, which may be reserved for $100/night for a maximum consecutive seven days. These suites must be booked 24 hours in advance
  • A party room is available for a cost of $50 per booking and requires a $100 deposit. This room can be reserved at any time
  • Ample visitor parking with fifty available spots. Each resident can reserve a parking space for his or her guest with a maximum of seven consecutive nights per month.
